The Quake Meter app utilizes the seismograph or seismometer in your smartphone to accurately gauge the strength of vibrations, tremors, earthquakes, and even human body movements or other nearby objects.
- High-Accuracy Seismometer: Detect earthquakes and human movements precisely through your phone's built-in seismograph.
- Seismic Wave Detection: Monitor seismic activities like earthquakes and volcanic eruptions with your phone's accelerometer.
- Detailed Graphical Analysis: Visualize seismic movements on comprehensive graphs that present data across three dimensions for profound insights.
- Real-Time Mercalli Scale Readings: Access immediate updates on ground motion intensity, including average and maximum values.
- Customizable MMI Chart: Personalize MMI charts to showcase seismic data over selected time frames for tailored analysis.
- Instant Alerts for Seismic Shocks: Stay informed with prompt notifications on sudden accelerations or seismic events to stay prepared.
- Effortless Data Autosave: Automatically save essential seismic data in CSV format for detailed post-event examination.
- Comprehensive History Access: Review and share your complete seismic data history, along with easily accessible CSV files.
- Secure Cloud Storage: Safely store your seismic data in the cloud, accessible across various devices using social accounts or email.
- Wear OS Compatibility: Control your seismic measurements seamlessly from your Wear OS device to minimize disruptions.
- Shareable Insights: Capture and share screenshots of your seismic findings to spread awareness and knowledge.
By utilizing the accelerometer in your phone, this app enables you to detect and record seismic waves generated by earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, avalanches, and other sources of seismic activity.
The graph feature presents a detailed record of ground motion at the measurement point over time. Any ground movement or object is represented along three Cartesian axes, with the z-axis perpendicular to the Earth's surface and the x- and y-axes parallel to the surface.
Detailed information on average and maximum values is tracked during measurements, along with real-time Mercalli scale descriptions. Users can customize the display to show current acceleration, XYZ, or Mercalli scale values on the main screen for quick reference.
You can also find an additional chart on the screen presenting MMI values which can be tailored to show different time spans for enhanced analysis. The ability to take screenshots of the overview allows for effortless sharing with others.
The alerts feature keeps you informed about sudden acceleration changes or seismic shocks, giving you control over which values trigger notifications through the settings screen.
The autosave function conveniently stores your data when seismic activities surpass set thresholds. Later on, you can review the saved CSV file to analyze precise measurements recorded during that period.
The history screen provides a detailed view of your saved data, including date, time, average, and maximum values. You can easily share this information as desired.
Safeguard your data using our cloud services by creating accounts to securely store and access data across different devices via social media accounts or email.
The app is now compatible with Wear OS devices, allowing users to control measurements seamlessly from their watch without interfering with their phone use.
